Scholarships

The College of Education offers more than $1,000,000 in scholarships every year. Scholarships may be classified as annual (given one time) or renewable (renewed each year is eligibility requirements are met). It is recommended that students apply through the ECU Award portal each year, as new scholarships may be added each academic year for which you may be eligible.

To get started you must complete a general application. Your scholarship application is automatically applied to all general scholarships for which you qualify. From there, you may discover additional scholarship opportunities for which you may qualify. These scholarships may require you to write an additional essay or answer additional questions.

Scholarships are available for incoming students, undergraduates, graduates, and doctoral students seeking degrees in education. College of Education scholarships are credited directly to the student’s fee bill from the Cashier’s Office. Half of the scholarship will be awarded in fall and half will be awarded in spring. If the student does not attend ECU for the following academic year, the scholarship must be forfeited.

All applicants who submitted a complete application will be notified of their application status in April after the scoring and selection process is complete. All communications about scholarships will be provided to your official ECU email.

The College of Education scholarship system has been merged with the university system, so all scholarships can be accessed from one location, using your PirateID. We hope that you take some time to fill out an online scholarship application.
