May 2023 Commencement Announcement
The East Carolina University May 2023 Commencement Ceremony will be held May 5, 2023, at 10 a.m. inside Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. Graduates need to complete the RSVP process prior to April 14th to attend.
In addition, ECU will host college recognition ceremonies. The college ceremonies will be held on May 5 and 6 in various locations. Guest tickets will be required and are limited. Additional information about tickets is listed below.
Here are the college recognition ceremonies details. Graduates will need to know their assigned ceremony to pick up guest tickets. Please note some colleges have multiple ceremonies due to higher numbers of graduates so be sure to check out the department names associated with each ceremony.

College of Education Graduate Recognition Ceremony
The College of Education’s ceremony will be Friday, May 5 at 4 p.m. in Minges Coliseum. Guest tickets will be required and are limited. If you did not receive an email from the College of Education about tickets, please contact Dr. Dionna Manning at manningd@ecu.edu.

All students must first apply for graduation through Pirate Port at least one semester prior to completing the requirements of the degree as stated by the Academic Catalog. Please visit the Office of the Registrar’s graduation web page for deadlines and instructions on applying to graduate.
Remember, there are two different ceremonies, University Commencement and the College of Education Graduate Recognition Ceremony.
