Our Office of Alternative Licensure provides multiple fast-track options to earn your teaching license. Whether through residency programs, licensure-only routes or Teach for America, we have a pathway that fits your needs and gets you into the classroom quickly!
Scholarships and first-year support
Start your journey toward becoming an educator with the financial support you need! The College of Education awards up to $700,000 annually in scholarships. Discover our range of yearly and four-year scholarships on the Education Scholarships webpage, and apply between November 1st and January 15th to secure funding for the next academic year.
North Carolina Teaching Fellows
Unlock up to $40,000 in forgivable loans through the prestigious North Carolina Teaching Fellows program, available to both incoming and current ECU students pursuing a four-year education degree. As a partner institution, ECU’s Teaching Fellows program offers a blend of academic excellence, hands-on experience, and personalized support, providing future educators an unparalleled pathway to success in North Carolina’s schools.
