This event welcomes local community members, organizations, and the ECU community! Agenda Highlights: Keynote: “Equity in Health Innovation: Opportunities for Leveraging Technology & Artificial Intelligence Across Eastern North Carolina” by Dr. Chris Evans, MD, MPH Innovation in Action: Health Solutions Panel Collaborative Breakouts: From Ideas to Impact Networking Lunch: Connect and Reflect Poster Session This annual event is supported by the Brody School of Medicine Department of Public Health, Center for Health Disparities, and the ECU Health Foundation. This conference was previously called the Jean Mills Minority Health Symposium.

This session will provide an overview of the campus approval process when submitting and managing grants, address what needs permission, and from whom, and highlight support offices on campus that can help and how to (and how not to) work with them. This session will feature an overview of creating your biosketch in SciENcv. NSF currently requires biosketches to be generated out of this system, and in January of 2025, so will NIH. Faculty are encouraged to bring a laptop or use 2 screens (1 to follow along with the presentation, the second to be logged into SciENcv) if joining by TEAMS, to begin to build your biosketch. This session will be more geared to the process and less geared to the content of the individual biosketch. This session will introduce helpful tools to search for funding opportunities and will focus on using the SPIN funding database. Attendees will learn how to set up custom searches and funding alerts.
