Elementary Education – Science Concentration
Mathematics Education, Science Education, and Instructional Technology
Our Elementary Science Concentration is a nationally recognized model for preparing effective, knowledgeable, and innovative elementary science specialists. The courses are content and pedagogically specific for teaching science in an elementary school setting. Students take courses in how to teach Earth, Life and Physical science at the elementary level. The courses are designed to engage students in hands-on investigations that they can implement in their future classrooms. Students also take a capstone course, Informal Science, in which they explore the impact of science experienced outside the classroom, planning family science nights, exploring parks and science centers and earning certifications in Project Wild.
