Public Service Award
Award Description
The College of Education Public Service Award honors individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to public service. This prestigious award recognizes faculty members, staff, or community partners who have made significant contributions through volunteerism, advocacy, and outreach efforts that enhance educational and related opportunities and outcomes for all. Recipients of this award exemplify the spirit of service and civic responsibility and promote a culture of care, belonging, and opportunity for all. Their dedication to public service not only benefits the community but also serves as an inspiring example of the transformative power of education.
Awards Per Year
One award will be conferred annually. A financial stipend will be awarded to the winner, contingent upon available funding.
Eligibility
Applications may:
- Be a current full time COE faculty/staff member OR
- Be a community member demonstrating the award criteria. Please note that community members might not be eligible for a financial stipend.
Applicants must:
- Have a demonstrated commitment to public service, with a specific emphasis on COE disciplines/professions.
- Be nominated by a current/full time COE faculty or staff member.
Nomination Application Procedure and Guidelines:

- CV (Not to exceed 5 pages)
- Cover letter (Not to exceed 2 pages)
- Supplemental Material (Not to exceed 5 pages)
