Dillon, Wolfson receive prestigious library science fellowship

Two library science students have received prestigious fellowships to learn more about teaching with primary sources and teaching student groups.

Amy Dillon and Michelle Wolfson were chosen as Primary Sources Teaching Fellows, a program based at the Wilson Special Collection Library at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill and funded by a national Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) grant.

The fellowship includes a five-week online summer training program, a three day in-person workshop at UNC-Chapel Hill, placement in an internship at a cultural heritage institution local to the fellow, and an award of $5,000 for the fellowship and $3,500 for the internship.

Wolfson and Dillon will learn about primary sources including archives, manuscripts, rare books, digitized materials and more. They will also have the chance to hear from UNC-CH librarians and archivists as well as a roster of guest speakers.
