What’s your favorite memory from your time at ECU?
My favorite memory from my time at ECU was all of the time spent with my friends. I met my 2 best friends through this program and I am so grateful for both of them.
What inspired you to pursue a career in education?
My career in education was inspired by my love and passion for helping children. My mom has also been a teacher for years and she is one of the greatest educators that I know.
Who has made the biggest impact on your journey here?
Bonnie Glass and Tammy Lee have made the biggest impacts in all my time here. Both of these professors are outstanding educators and people. They care for you like you are their own and they always do the most out of the box things to ensure you are learning and having fun.
What’s next after graduation?
After graduation I will be returning to ECU to get my Masters in K-12 science education.
What advice would you give to future College of Education students?
To future COE students… don’t ever give up. You will be challenged, you will feel tired, you will even feel like your whole body may snap in half, but I can assure you that every hardship, every late night, every lesson plan, is worth it. The lives you will change and the children you will inspire is the greatest gift. Never be afraid of who you are and what you want to be. Shoot for the stars and you will achieve your goals.
How has the College of Education prepared you for the classroom (or your next step)?
The COE has provided us with a multitude of opportunities to grow and find our way as educators. Through amazing professors, classes, and outside opportunities, we have been able to flourish and find our way as growing educators.
