What drew you to pursue your current major/degree?

What drew me to elementary education is that I love being around kids and helping them learn new things.

What is your favorite thing about your major/degree?

My favorite thing about my major is that I get to learn about what I love the most, which is teaching kids, so it doesn’t feel like I’m stuck in school when I’m doing something I love.

What brought you to ECU?

What brought me to ECU was the Teaching Fellows opportunity and how good the education department is.

What made you decide to be an educator?

What made me decide to become an educator was my parents, who are educators, and I saw the impact they were able to have on students in the community, and I would like to impact on my community in a positive way.

Do you have any advice for students looking to pursue a degree in education?

Make sure that you want to do this job, and always try to have a positive mindset, because at the end of the day you’re going to be working with kids who feed off of your energy, so make sure it’s positive.
