The ECU New Teacher Support Program coaches hosted a regional conference bringing together nearly 80 beginning teachers for a full day of professional development.

Teachers traveled from Pitt, Tyrrell, Martin, Hyde, Craven and Beaufort counties to participate, creating a dynamic and collaborative atmosphere.

“It was inspiring to see such a strong turnout and commitment to excellence from our local school districts,” said Dr. Christopher Rivera, ECU NTSP regional director and acting chair of the College of Education Department of Educational Leadership and Foundations.

The conference offered valuable tools and insights designed to support and empower these dedicated professionals as they navigate their crucial first years in the classroom. This initiative highlights the powerful role of the ECU College of Education and the NTSP in strengthening the teaching profession across eastern North Carolina.

Some of the sessions teachers were able to attend including professionalism, classroom management, time management, learning in motion, formative moves and unlocking vocabulary.
