Dusterberg, Story finalists for NCCAT Beginning Teacher of Year
An East Carolina University College of Education alumna and current COE graduate student were recognized during the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT)’s 2024 Empower NC Beginning Teacher of the Year awards as finalists.
Karen Dusterberg was the finalist from Wake County Schools and graduated from ECU’s special education undergraduate program in May 2022. She noted that she has had an incredible start to her teaching career and was thankful for her ECU professors for preparing her for the field.
Camryn Story is currently in the special education master’s program and was the finalist from Pitt County Schools.
