Dr. Louis Warren receiving his honor from Alpha Sigma Phi

Dr. Louis Warren, center, was honored by the Delta Eta chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi by inducting him into the brotherhood and creating a leadership award in his honor.

The Delta Eta chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi recognized Dr. Louis Warren, a professor in elementary education, as an official brother in the fraternity and created a leadership award in his name during the spring semester.

Warren has played a key role in the fraternity by serving as an advisor to the chapter from 2017 to 2020. In this role, he provided his time, energy and resources to the brotherhood.

“Dr. Warren has helped many fraternity men over the years at ECU, but his willingness to serve Delta Eta and support undergraduate fraternity life at East Carolina has impacted generations of students,” said Brad Roberson, the grand chapter advisor.

To this day, Warren still serves as an advisor to the fraternity, assisting the grand chapter advisor in guiding undergraduate students to success.

The Dr. Louis Warren Leadership Award was established on February 15, 2022, which is the date that Warren was inducted into the brotherhood. This award recognizes the leadership and support Warren provides to fraternity life at ECU as well as the commitment from an undergraduate man in Delta Eta to serve his community through exemplary leadership.

“The open motto of Alpha Sigma Phi, Causa Latet Vis Est Notissima, means ‘the cause is hidden, the results well known’,” Roberson said. “Dr. Warren’s results are well known in Delta Eta, and this award will ensure his legacy is carried on for future generations of brothers of the fraternity.”
