Alumnus Levy Brown named vice president of student services at Vance-Granville Community College

Alumnus Levy Brown has been named vice president of student services at Vance-Granville Community College in Henderson effective May 15.

Brown received an ECU 40 Under 40 Leadership Award in 2016. The Division of Student Affairs created the awards in April 2015 to recognize emerging leaders who received their start at ECU as well as those who have used their ECU experiences to make significant impacts in their professions, communities and in the world.

Brown received his bachelor’s degree in communication in 2002 and a doctorate in education in higher education administration in 2016 from ECU. Dr. Crystal Chambers was Brown’s dissertation chair at ECU. Brown also holds a master’s degree in library science from North Carolina Central University and is currently pursuing a graduate certificate in sociology from Appalachian State University.

He previously served as dean of arts and sciences at Lenoir Community College.
