Participants of the Science Education Against Drug Abuse Partnership (SEADAP) project earn awards
Six students conducted independent research during the 2016-2017 academic year after school SEADAP program on the campus of East Carolina University.
Dr. Rhea Miles with SEDAP students Kyra Miles, Shinjini Misra, Caroline Doherty, Bishop Miles, Lucas Mebane and Taylor Hill.
Kyra Miles (D.H. Conley) Shinjini Misra (D.H .Conley) and Caroline Doherty (J.H. Rose) earned first place in the Regional Science Fair on February 11, 2017 held at ECU and the title of their project was “Effects of Red Bull on Dugesia Dorotosephala”. Bishop Miles (DH Conley), Lucas Mebane (JH Rose) and Taylor Hill (Greene Central) earned second place and the title of their project was “Mouth-o-holics: The Effects of Listerine on Dugesia Dorotosephala. Both groups of competitors were participants of the student independent research component of the SEADAP program. Bishop, Lucas and Taylor went on to compete at the state science fair on March 25, 2017.
