Special Endorsement in Computer Education Certificate
The certificate for the special endorsement in computer education provides interested licensed teachers the opportunity to fulfill requirements to apply for the 18079 endorsement for the position of Technology Facilitator. Applicants to the certificate program must currently have a NC teaching license and meet graduate school standards for admission.

Applicants to the Special Endorsement in Computer Education Certificate must currently have a NC teaching license and meet graduate school standards for admission.
Program Planning & Course Descriptions
The certificate program requires 12 s.h. of graduate course work in educational technology. Required courses include EDTC 6010, EDTC 6070, EDTC 6139 and EDTC 6149.
- EDTC 6010. Introduction to Instructional Technology (3) Historical background, theories, instructional design and development, deliverers of instruction, current issues, and trends.
- EDTC 6070. Digital Literacies and Emerging Technologies (3) Studies in digital literacy and the acquisition of digital fluency, as well as explorations of emerging technologies to recognize their benefits and limitations and to increase leadership capacity by innovating with them. This course prepares students to critically evaluate, ethically integrate, and effectively utilize future-ready digital tools and concepts, including artificial intelligence tools, for a variety of learning and performance objectives in academic and corporate contexts.
- EDTC 6139. Selection and Integration of Multimedia for PreK-12 Schools (3) Methods and materials for selecting and using a variety of multimedia formats in PreK-12 classrooms.
- EDTC 6149. Planning and Administration of School Technology Programs (3) Theory and principles of planning and administering school technology programs.
