Student Success Teaching Award
Award Description
The College of Education Student Success Teaching Award recognizes exceptional educators who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to fostering student success. This prestigious award honors faculty members who exhibit innovative teaching methods, create inclusive and engaging learning environments, and actively support the academic and personal growth of their students. Recipients of this award are dedicated to excellence in instruction and serve as inspiring mentors, significantly contributing to their students’ overall success and well-being.
Awards Per Year
Two awards will be conferred annually. One award will be designated for a COE faculty member and one award will be designated for a Community School faculty member. A financial stipend will be awarded to the winner, contingent upon available funding.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be a current full time EHRA-NT/EHRA faculty member in College of Education
- Have been employed in the COE for at least 1 academic semester
- Have taught at least one course in the COE in the past academic year
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching in the COE with a specific focus on student success.
Nomination Application Procedure and Guidelines
- Nominators may submit only one nomination per award category.
- Self-nominations are permitted.
- The nominee must prepare and submit the complete award packet. Incomplete packets will not be considered.
- All required materials must be submitted via the designated form (link will be provided).
Required Application Materials:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) — Not to exceed 5 pages
- Cover letter — Not to exceed 2 pages. Should include teaching philosophy and clearly describe how the candidate’s work meets the award criteria.
- Supplemental Material — Not to exceed 5 pages. Include selected evidence that highlights the candidate’s commitment to student success and innovative teaching. Example materials may include:
- Lesson plans
- Course assignments
- Student work samples
- Student feedback
- Letters of support from students
- Excerpts from syllabi
- Sample course announcements or other communication
